ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP:

Membership of the Association will be a mixture of individuals from a wide variety of industries and markets. Members will have a key interest in delivering or developing training associated with the selection, use, or maintenance of some or all types of respiratory protection devices or products associated therewith. Corporate membership is available for companies whose staff deliver such training and support activities.

ASSOCIATION OFFERINGS:

The association will achieve its aim by offering "Accreditation" to its membership supported by a nationally recognised body (TBA). Accreditation is offered at different levels, specific to the types of RPD training provided by the member, or the types of service offered by the member, be it product selection, advice, supply, maintenance or user training. Services offered by the association will include:

  • 1. Association membership (corporate or individual)
  • 2. Training workshops to assist in obtaining accredited status.
  • 3. Assessment of staff for 'Accreditation'.
  • 4. Requalification of individuals for continued accreditation.
  • 5. Registration of individuals on 'data base' with access for prospective users.
  • 6. Assessment of training equipment & facilities.
  • 7. Assessment of training materials and manuals.
  • 8. Assessment of End Users work activity to confirm correct RPD selection.
The association remit will include all types of RPDs and associated products and activities to include:

  • Apparatus selection
  • Fit Test Instructor Training (May be used as a pre-qualification for Fit 2 Fit accreditation)
  • Air supplied apparatus - Working and Escape
  • Air Supplied apparatus - Constant flow
  • Negative pressure equipment
  • PAPR - Powered Air Purifying Respirator
  • FFP - Filtering Face Piece Disposables - Maintenance Free
  • Chemical Oxygen apparatus
In addition to the core products and services identified above the association will also support its membership and clients by offering:

  • Generic training packages to cover all topics for use by registered members.
  • Training of potential instructional staff prior to 'accreditation'
  • Development of bespoke training packages to cover a particular task or application
  • Supply or recommendation of accredited instructors to end users.
  • Technical support - Act as a conduit for manufacturers to training providers.
